Veterinarian
Performance Medicine & Lameness
Dr. Escaro grew up between Atlanta, Georgia and Montgomery, Alabama. When she was around the age of 15, she began her competitive riding career in the pony hunter and age-group equitation divisions which provided exposure to the meticulous management of the horse as an athlete. She knew she wanted to be a veterinarian when she helped stabilize a traumatic eye injury of a show pony at her barn. She worked with the primary vet to stabilize the horse and assisted her trainer with the aftercare and rehabilitation. Watching and being involved in the treatment of such a resilient animal solidified her drive to keep horses happy, healthy, and performing at their best. Her professional interests include orthopedics, sport horse medicine and thoroughbred aftercare. Outside of work, Dr. Escaro enjoys competing her own off-the-track thoroughbred, Monty, in eventing, spending time with friends and her chihuahua, Cheeto, and binging Netflix shows. She hopes to cage dive with great white sharks one day and cannot live without ranch dressing!
