Dr. Rathgeber grew up on a farm in Camp Springs, Maryland. She knew from a young age that she wanted to become a veterinarian, but her goals were solidified in high school because of the veterinarian that worked on her event horse when it became sick. When she was choosing where to practice, Dr. Rathgeber chose Hagyard because of the respected veterinarians and the multitude of amazing horses across all disciplines. Her favorite cases include acupuncture and imaging work, racehorses and eventing horses. Her favorite veterinary memory is attending the Kentucky Derby when the winner was a patient of hers. Outside of work, Dr. Rathgeber enjoys spending time with her family, cooking and riding. She is also a University of Kentucky Men's Basketball fan. The one thing she can't live without both professionally and personally? Horses!
