Dr. Thomas is originally from Trussville, Alabama. She has always wanted to be a vet and work with animals to ensure they remain happy, healthy and functional. She knew she wanted to work at Hagyard because of the central location to the breeding farms and the mentorship that comes from working in a large multi-doctor practice. Her professional interests include foal medicine, general practice and reproduction. Her favorite memory as a vet is saving a mare with postpartum hemorrhage by giving a blood transfusion. Outside of work, Dr. Thomas enjoys reading, hiking and spending time with her horse, Buster, her dogs Stryker and Opie, and her cats Waldo, Nemo and Ollie. She hopes to one day visit the small town in Italy that her great grandfather emigrated from.
