overview

Externships

Our externship programs are offered during the months of February through October. The minimum duration an externship may last is a week, while the maximum duration is two weeks. Our externships support graduate students and veterinarians by giving them the opportunity to gain “real-world” experience in a group practice setting. Depending on their interest in equine practice, graduate students may choose between the areas of field care, internal medicine and surgery. No matter their area of choice, students will observe a wide array of high quality equine veterinary medical services in each externship.
