    Dr. Rathgeber is from Virginia and attended the University of Florida for a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology. She attended Washington State University for a PhD in Veterinary Anatomy and Locomotion. Her thesis studied the effects of different racetrack surfaces on Thoroughbred horses. She then attended Virginia Tech to complete her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine. She joined Hagyard in 1995 and was one of the first two women to become Members of the Practice. Dr. Rathgeber is the Director of the Sport Horse Program. She has a special interest in acupuncture, lameness and imaging.
