Our goal is to meet the specific needs of equine veterinarians and to optimize equine health care. Hagyard Laboratory is staffed with professional certified Medical Technologists and Medical Laboratory Technicians that are committed to providing quality results. Our staff strives to be friendly, compassionate, competent and knowledgeable in all aspects of the laboratory.

The lab is run by licensed medical technologists and medical laboratory technicians that have extensive knowledge in equine hematology, chemistry, blood banking and microbiology. Due to the expertise of our technologists and state-of-the-art instrumentation, our lab produces quality results you can depend on along with unmatched turnaround times.

To ensure accurate results, quality control is run as required by the Clinical Laboratory Standards Institute, a global nonprofit organization that sets the standards all regulatory agencies and accredited labs use to ensure quality results. The Hagyard Lab participates in proficiency testing from an external source and performs internal proficiency testing to guarantee the consistency and accuracy of all results.

The Lab's award-winning Laboratory Information System (LIS) interfaces with several of our instruments and generates barcode labels for specimens, ensuring the accuracy of results by eliminating clerical errors. The LIS enables us to access patient reports quickly and print, fax or email them to our clients. The LIS can generate different types of reports such as cumulative and antibiogram reports.

Please complete and fax or email the “New Client Form” before sending specimens for the first time or include it with your first specimen. Please read the information about our laboratory.

Please review the Testing Summary Report for information about the testing available at our lab.

Please fill out a Sample Submission Form for each specimen.
